When I was young, I came to the USA for the first time on a language course, feeling overwhelmed by how big and unfamiliar everything was. In my room, there was a single, fragrant lily on the bedside table. Seeing it and smelling its delicate scent immediately gave me a sense of calm and security.

I have remembered this moment ever since. In this picture, I have captured that moment, with the lily symbolising comfort, beauty and immortality.
