The intention behind this work was to make a room with a magnolia tree in bloom shine, so that the light appears to come from within the room rather than from outside.

During the painting process, my son came into the studio and spontaneously asked if it was a pineapple. This heartwarming moment made me smile, reminding me of how art can be perceived so openly and freely.

So the painting is called 'Pineapple' as a loving reminder of this moment, and to symbolise the joy of viewing life with lightness and wonder.
